OSO Maritim AS is one of Northern Norway's oldest shipbroker company, established by Odd Sigvald Olsen in 1971. With his knowledge and contact network in several companies, in both corporate management, financial advice and from several major board positions, as well as his education as Dispasjør and Sjøkaptein. With trade and shipping as its special area, the founding of a Skipsmeglerfirma was a natural continuation and establishment. The Olsen family started trading with fish in the year 1880, with its own vessels and crew. Odd Sigvald ran and led the company until his son Johan S. Olsen took over the day-to-day operations in 1991. Johan has a degree as engineer/marine engineer with additional and special expertise in transport economics and with particular responsibility for the company's activities in the field of fishing and offshore brokerage.

After Johan took over the management, Odd Sigvald continued as an employee in the company until his passing in Febr. 2017. With a team working on shipbuilding, ship operations, language and culture, and our cooperation with the leading law firms in maritime and maritime insurance in Norway, we are sure to assist you with relevant questions and services. 

OSO Maritim AS, is the Norwegian Seafood Council, an approved exporter of fish and fish products. This involves brokering of fish from vessel to land facility where we can be a close partner between buyer and seller, both nationally and internationally.
